A lot of people hate the Yankees, but they don’t know what they’re missing. Sure they’ve got championships, but more than wins, the Yankees have history like no other team in baseball. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, Don Mattingly, Thurman Munson, Derek Jeter – the rosters read like a ‘Who’s Who’ of baseball greats. They’ve had their ups and downs, as well as their fair share of scandal, but the Yankees are America’s team.
As a native West Coaster, it’s even worth it to me to buy satellite tv just so I can watch the Yankees play. It’s a good thing I found such great direct tv promotionsso I can watch my Yankees every game. ItFrom crazy double plays to walk off home runs, they’re always a team I enjoy watching. And to top it off, few other teams have as heated a rivalry as the Yankees and Red Sox. Watching those series each summer reminds me of what makes the sport of baseball great: the finesse, the competition, the multi-inning stand-offs to see which team will prevail. There are a lot of things you can say about the Yankees, but they always put on a good show.
